Wandering through Devonport Village you may not be aware of the surprise that awaits you behind the gates of Pacific Villa. A meandering pathway, punctuated with paua shells and polished pennies, guides you through a sub-tropical garden towards the beautiful two-storyed villa built in 1910.
When entering Pacific Villa you'll notice quality furnishings complemented by strong, vibrant colour. The extensive art collection and fantastic views of Auckland harbour work together to provide an extraordinary place to relax and unwind.
Each of the three bedrooms presents a different experience. The turquoise room (queen bed) is fresh and tranquil, and glimpses the harbour through the statuesque garden Fan Palms. The cabin room is boldly painted to convey the richness of Polynesian tapa cloth. A double bed and a bunk accentuate the 'cabin' feel in this room. The paua room (double bed) overlooks the courtyard, and has a dream-like atmosphere emphasised by the paua shell detailing native to New Zealand.
The lounge and dining room are furnished in the style of a bygone colonial era. With personality and attention to detail, there is much to observe in this treasure-filled space. The art collection highlights the diverse talents of local artists who find inspiration from the strength of their heritage, both Maori and Polynesian cultures. The large lounge window displays harbour views, while the private balcony offers a quite space to relax at the end of the day. Sky Digital television, video and CD/stereo player provide guests with additional entertainment.
Pacific Villa is centrally heated to provide warmth and comfort throughout the year. Modern facilities in the kitchen, bathroom and laundry enable guests to look after their requirements with ease. The stylish kitchen overlooks the harbour and is fitted with a gas oven, a dishwasher, a fridge/freezer and a microwave. There is a sunny and private courtyard in which to enjoy an outdoor barbecue. The bathroom continues the Pacific theme with exquisitely designed glass shower tiles as well as a sculptured mirror. A heated towel rail and hair-drier are included. And in case you feel the need the laundry provides a washing machine and drier, a tub and iron.
Pacific Villa is more than just a place to rest your head, it is a unique experience in itself. Located in the heart of the charming seaside village of Devonport this is a private place of beauty Pacific Villa.
